Snack fun!

Here are the students who were in school today.  (Thomas and Autumn were here too, but they were at gym).  As you can see, half our friends are absent.  So, teacher let us watch a movie during our snack.  Then we played fun learning games, like the card game War.  

We are hoping for some much wanted snow.  The weatherman says a storm is heading our way...almost enough to close our school for the day!

UPCOMING EVENTS!

We have some fun events happening next week, and we hope to have 100% participation in our classroom!  Here is what we can participate in next week:

• Monday 12/17: Wear Christmas socks &/or a Christmas hat.
• Tuesday 12/18: Wear something like a Christmas wreath (ear-rings/necklace), or jingle bells, or red nose, or Christmas headband (maybe with ears/antlers/etc).
• Wednesday 12/19: Teacher is supposed to wear an ugly Christmas sweater!  But we students can wear Christmas clothes!
• Thursday 12/20:  Christmas PJ's or Christmas slipper day!
• Friday 12/21: Red and Green day!  

Our Christmas break starts after school on Friday 12/21 and we return back to school on Monday January 7, 2013!

A Moment of Fun!

Our Elves, Snowflake, Snowball, and Kenny arrived again today, and look where they landed!

LOOK!  Kaylee found the elves right away this morning.  They sure  are tricky to find some mornings!  Good job Kaylee!

A really COOL story!

Teacher read us this really fun book.  It is called An Elf on a Shelf.

Wouldn't ya know it?  We have not one elf in our classroom...BUT...3 of them.  

We had to name our elves.  Teacher had us all right three names on paper.  We then put them into a tub.  Teacher reached in (we made sure she didn't peek), and drew out three names.  We would like to introduce: Snowflake, Snowball, and Kenny.  Snowflake and Snowball are twins.  (That means they look alike and have the same birthday!).  Kenny is the elf with blue pants. 

If you haven't read the story, here is a short version.  Santa send an elf to watch over us.  We have to name the elf for the "magic" to begin.  The elf reports to Santa each night and comes back everyday, in a new spot.  We have to find the elf daily!  BUT we can't touch the elf or he looses his magic. AND he can't talk to use..Santa said!  We really liked the story and we hope you will read it too!  

Fun Learning!

The other day Marcella, Austin and teacher played several games of HI HO Cherry-O!  We had fun.  Marcella and Logan each won a game...poor teacher never won a game!

Austin was very proud of himself.  He completed this puzzle all by himself!  Deserves a great spot here!

Our school is having a door decorating contest.  The theme is "Christmas Songs".  We choose to do "We Wish You a Merry Christmas".  We will post a picture of our door when it is finished.  Can you guess what it might be???  

Hi I am Kaylee!

My Name is Kaylee.  I am 9 yrs. old and in the 3rd grade.  My favorite color is blue.  I like to read at school.  I am usually the first one finished with all my work.  Then I get to help teacher do things.  (This makes the boys mad...but they should work more and talk less!)

Hi my name is Logan.  I am 7 years old and in 1st grade.  My favorite color is RED!  I really like to play at recess.  I like to play on the computer, and if I have a really fantastic day, teacher lets me for a few minutes.

Introducing Austin!

Hi, I am Austin.  I am 6 yrs. old and in Kindergarten.  My favorite color is blue!  I have one little brother.  I like to play with the dice and make numbers at school.  I can count to ten, and I can put my name together using my letters.  You will see me more doing lots of learning!

Miss Marcella finding sight words in our "Big books".  One word she was finding was the word "THE".  We have fun colored tape that we cover our sight words with, so we can still read them as we re-read our story.  (The tape is re-usable too!).  

Austin is finding the letter "A" in his big book.  He was very good at finding all the A's, even ones our helper missed!  Great Job Austin!

Hi I am Dakotah

Hi my name is Dakotah.  I am 9 years old and in the 4th grade. My favorite color is blue.  Just like most of my class mates, my favorite thing to do at school is RECESS.  I like gym too.  I also like to play with the "putty".  I will have teacher post a picture of the putty!  It is fun!

Thomas here reporting for duty.  I am 10 years old and in the 5th grade too.  My favorite color is blue.  I like to do math at school.  I like to play Cars 2.  I am so proud of my sister.  She just finished boot camp for the Marines!  My best friend is Blake (from our class!)

This is Austin.  He is making funny faces with one our favorite books.  The Noses, eyes, mouths and other items are magnetic, and we like to make silly faces with them.  Teacher says we have to do our work nicely before she will let us use these books.

Hi my name is Autumn.  You met me last year, but here I am again.  I am 10 years old, and in 5th grade.  I like to do puzzles, and I really like science.  I want to be a teacher when I grow up!  I like to play house too.  I am a cheerleader this year too!  GO TEAM!

We really enjoy doing puzzles during our spare time.  Chad and Trent are working hard at two new puzzles. (These also glow in the dark!)
